Bretton Woods
Today we went to bretton woods resort. We were able to meet the general manager, director of guest services, human resource manager, head snowmaker, operations manager, and other important people that work at the resort. It seemed like all the managers had advice about teamwork and the customers. No matter what department you are working in, all of the employees are working bretton woods resort. All of the departments need to work together in order to have a successful business. James, guest serive manager, was saying that you can never yell at a customer, but they are not always right. Don't take any of it personally because they are not mad at you, they are disappointed at the resort. You escort them to what they are looking for, and calling the manager of that department to let him/her know the situation. The customer gets more frustrated the more they have to tell their story. Then we went over to the massive hotel for a tour. It'd be a nice place to stay...if I was rich. After seeing all 4 of the practicum mountains, I know that its gonna be a good winter.

Yah the advice they gave us seemed pretty interesting. Just like Sean always told us, all the departments have to work hand in hand or else everything goes wrong. I also agree when they said you have to be flexible to work in other position at many ski resorts. In order to make a living in todays economy you have to be able to do a variety of task, and the same rule applies to ski resorts. Everyone's part of a big family!
ReplyDeletei agree. Without the whole team working together everything cannot be done properly. If all the departments are doing their job, the day will go smoothly. I also want to stay at the hotel but it is so expensive 300 - 3000 dollars a night it a crazy amount for a hotel that is almost 200 years old! I bet its super expensive to have your wedding there.
ReplyDeleteCustomer service is so important at a ski resort! I like that at Bretton Woods, they really care about their customer and they help them so the customer doesn't have to explain their problem so many times. On many occasions, I have called customer service lines and gotten transferred to another person who I had to explain my situation to...It gets super annoying to have to explain your complaint many times but Bretton Woods employees prevent that from happening!
